Mastic chewing gum

Here’s how to beat the toughest h. pylori infections. Cover your bases by addressing reasons why h. pylori is resistant or comes right back.

The top three reasons why h. pylori can be tough to address is:

1. Ongoing stress of the nervous system.

2. Reinfection by a partner.

3. Not addressing h. pylori that lives in the oral cavity.

The first issue is the hardest to solve. It requires lifestyle changes, therapy, slowing down and/or support through nutrition, mindset work or vagal regulation. Things like walking, breath work, yoga nidra and hot cold therapy are very helpful. Working on your stress and nervous system can be a slow process but will yield the biggest results in terms of immune and digestive health.

The second issue can be solves by doing an h. pylori protocol at the same time as your partner. Your biggest chances of reinfection comes from a partner that you are intimate with. They may not have signs of h. pylori infection, but it doesn’t mean they don’t have it. The protocol for h. pylori is very safe and anyone can do it without harming their biome.

H. pylori can live in the oral cavity of the mouth and can be a common reason for self reinfection. There are ways to kill h. pylori in the mouth. It can be done by swishing Matula tea in the mouth before swallowing it. But if someone chooses a mastic gum capsule protocol over the tea, there is another a way to kill h. pylori in the mouth.

You can chew mastic gum pellets. Mastic gum comes from the sap of a tree that grows on the Greek Island of Chios. It is concentrated into capsules form to be swallowed for internal use in the stomach. But you can also chew mastic gum pellets to kill h. pylori orally.

When you start chewing a mastic pellet (called a Mastic tear), it turns into gum. You can chew the pure mastic gum for 15 or 20 minutes and spit it out.

The many benefits of chewing mastic gum

The benefit of chewing mastic gum is that chewing helps stimulate stomach acid secretion, which is often low with h. pylori. This can also help with symptoms of reflux (which is typically caused by low acid).

Not only does mastic gum kill h. pylori without disturbing other bacteria, it may also help lower liver enzymes, as well as cholesterol and ease symptoms of IBD.

Research presented in a 2015 review suggests that mastic gum may help ease the symptoms of Crohn’s disease, which is a common form of IBD.

In one small study, people who took mastic gum for four weeks experienced a significant decrease in the severity of their inflammatory symptoms. Researchers also found decreased levels of IL-6 and C-reactive protein, which are markers of inflammation.

How to use mastic gum

I suggest using mastic gum as part of a mastic gum capsule protocol. Take 2 capsules of mastic gum (I like this brand) 30 minutes before a meal and then chew on a mastic tear/pellet until it is time to eat. Do this 3 times a day.

You can find the full details for my natural approach for h. pylori in the h. Pylori Rescue Guide.

The mastic gum pellets are a new addition. If you like to chew gum, this is a great, sugar-free option, that can also be used post h. pylori protocol to keep it in check.
