Mitochondria, detox and IBS

If you’ve experienced negative side effects from a supplement protocol that kills bad bugs, knowing how to open your detox and drainage pathways will ease those symptoms.

But detox support is not the only thing that will make a big difference in the way a supplement protocol feels and works. Mitochondria plays a big role in gut health, but it is not often discussed.

Before jumping into a supplement killing protocol it is important to measure and/or support your mitochondrial health. Understanding some basic about mitochondrial function and detox can make a huge difference to the success of a protocol.

Many people keep repeating failed protocols to address SIBO or h. pylori without figuring out why these protocols are not working.

There are several reasons why they don’t work, but one of the most common ones is not supporting mitochondria. Your mitochondria dictate how much energy you have in your cells. Without cellular energy, your body doesn’t have the energy to detox, repair or heal.

I get how desperately impatient most people are to get their health and life back. But creating the right conditions in the body will help us get there faster and with more efficacy. And it will actually speed healing up.

In other words, taking a few extra steps in the beginning will really pay off.

Mitochondrial support may be the missing step in a healing protocol because it robs you of energy to heal. I’ll not only teach you about mitochondria but also how to support it best.

Mitochondrial support

The microbiome is a commonly discussed topic with gut health. But the mitochondria influences the microbiome. The microbiome and mitochondria talk to each other. Mitochondria live in the intestinal epithelial cells, mucosal cells, immune cells, and even neural cells, and when it’s not healthy it has dysfunctional communication with the biome, causing inflammation and mood issues, among other symptoms.

Fatigue that is attributed to poor functioning adrenals can actually be mitochondrial distress. Mitochondria need minerals to function properly as they are essential cofactors for mitochondrial physiology and overall cellular health.

Mitochondria is also affected by our circadian rhythm.

Our diets are low in minerals and our lifestyles are our of sync with nature (lot of blue light at night from screens and lack of sunlight during the day, poor sleeping habits and an erratic eating schedule contribute to mitochondrial dysfunction.

If you don’t have a lot of energy in your cells, healing is going to be low on the list of priorities as your energy will go towards getting you through your day.

The reason that I have started offering hair tissue mineral analysis testing in my health coaching practice is that it measures the health of the mitochondria through the mineral levels that support it.

The test tells you what minerals need support for optimal mitochondrial function. I am currently ordering HTMA tests for people who want to measure their mineral levels.

For those that can’t afford testing but would like to do a general preparation protocol before starting another round of herbs or anti-microbial, then I have a recommended general protocol below from Cellcore.

Month-long mitochondria prep program

Cellcore’s Phase 1 protocol will improve the comfort and efficacy of any gut healing program. It does this by opening up detox and drainage pathways while also remineralizing the body to support mitochondria.

Cellcore’s products contain humid and fulvic acid, which not only remineralize but also help detox.

Minerals, heavy metals and toxins compete for space inside the cells. By adding more minerals to your body, the toxins and metals are pushed out slowly and naturally. This is one of the best detox strategies because it is the most gentle.

And when you open your detox pathways you have much less reactivity to herbs.

If you have been sick for longer than 6 months, or react badly to antimicrobial herbs, balancing minerals, supporting mitochondria and opening up detox is highly recommended.

Not only will it improve and speed chances of success, but it will boost confidence in and comfort during the process.

Phase 1 Cellcore Protocol

To open up a Cellcore account, you’ll need to go here and use this code HvdcBkCj

Cellcore is a company that focuses on setting the body up for healing on the deepest level. And I have been using their strong parasite protocol for years. I used it twice myself to get rid of parasites.

The elements of this protocol is below:

KL Support (kidney and liver support) unclogs drainage pathways and breaks down biofilms that protect infections from immune attack.

CT-minerals help remineralize the body and push toxins and metals out of cells. Through remineralization it supports mental clarity, immune function and cellular repair.

BC-ATP improves mitochondrial function, by assisting the body with ATP production.

Biotoxin binder escorts toxins out of the body. Most binders also bind to and remover beneficial minerals, but biotoxin binder only grabs onto and removes toxins, mycotoxins/mold or metals. Unlike other binders, it can be taken with food.

Protocol instructions

Protocol directions are below. Supplements can be taken with or without food. The protocol is for one month and uses one bottle of each:

KL support

BC-ATP

CT-minerals

Biotoxin binder

After one month, you can continue taking the CT-Minerala and Biotoxin binder as you start your gut healing protocol.

Supporting your minerals can raise energy levels, calm you down and boost cell function. It is one of the most overlooked steps in natural and functional medicine.

The reason I am so passionate about educating people about this approach is that it was the approach that gave me back my digestive health and life 20 years ago, and I have been able to maintain it since.

Mineral balancing, and mitochondria support are become a more common part of the digestive health conversation. My hope is that understanding this relationship and the importance of supporting both detox and mitochondria will speed up and revamp your healing process.
