Map the bacteria in your gut

I have been voraciously reading about digestive issues this year and though it is a complicated topic, all roads seem to be leading back to beneficial bacteria in the gut.

This beneficial bacteria that supports our immune system, manufactures important vitamins and helps our body digest nutrients is under attack in our society.

Antibiotics medications, low levels of antibiotics in animal feed and even antibacterial soap are all waging attacks on the bacteria in our bodies, both the good guys and the bad.

We don’t yet fully understand this ecosystem of bacteria that lives in our bodies but this has become a popular research topic and part of our collective health conversation. And it is so exciting that we are learning more and more about this topic all the time.

A hundred years from now people will most likely look back at our ignorance about bacteria and wonder why we had such backwards notions about bacterial eradication?

Contribute to science and your own health!

But YOU could be an cutting edge early adopter in the bacterial movement by participating in this exciting new project dedicated to mapping our collective biome (the ecosystem of bacteria that lives within us) and giving us each individual maps our our own biome.

I am so all over this!

For just $69 you can get a testing kit (you simply swab samples of your body and mail it in) to get a map of your bacterial ecology. Your map will tell you what strains you have, which are missing and what this can mean for your health. Watch the video below to learn more and get started.

There’s also a special testing option for people with digestive issues like Ulcerative colitis and IBS, which allows you to test yourself three different times.

This is a great opportunity to test your healing progress. First test yourself as is and then try a low sugar, high probiotic diet to see what this does to your biome. You can swab yourself as you cleanse, heal and rebalance and get solid scientific feedback on your progress.

The only downside is that we have to wait till May to get our results. I will be sharing mine with you as soon as I get them!

So are you in? Will you contribute to science and your own health knowledge?  There is no doubt in my mind that this is the wave of healthcare’s future.

So get your map and learn about all the creatures that are traveling through this life with you. Tell your friends about this. Test the whole family!

I would love to know in the comments if you are interested in  participating? Why or why not?

What would you like to learn from the results?

(By the way I am in no way affiliated with this project, I just stumbled on it this online and got very, very excited and wanted to share).
